Samantha Rothman

Samantha Rothman is a current Morris Township Committeewoman, local small business owner, and lifelong member of the community she proudly serves.A graduate of Morristown High School, Samantha returned to her hometown to be close to family and raise her two children with her husband, John.

​

Samantha is the co-founder of Grow It Green Morristown, a nonprofit organization dedicated to urban agriculture, sustainability, and community education. Through that work, she has spent years helping connect residents to healthy food, environmental stewardship, and hands-on educational opportunities. She also served for a decade on the Environmental Commission for the Town of Morristown and previously served on the board of The Conservation Foundation of New Jersey, helping advance environmental initiatives and sustainable practices at both the local and statewide level. Samantha is also a member of the Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center and a longtime member of Temple B’nai Or.

Before serving on the Township Committee, Samantha was Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Adjustment, gaining valuable experience in local governance, thoughtful planning, and municipal land use issues. 

She holds a degree in Plant Biology from Smith College, as well as a Master of Forest Science and a Master of Science from Yale University. Her studies at Yale University included municipal land use law, providing her with a strong foundation in zoning and responsible community planning.

 

Samantha is deeply committed to public service, community connection, and preserving the character of Morris Township while planning responsibly for its future. She is dedicated to building a greener, more connected, and more vibrant community for generations to come.

Stephanie
Lyon

Stephanie “Stevie” Lyon is a licensed clinical psychologist, educator, and parent of two children in the Morris Township public schools. With more than two decades of experience working at the intersection of public health, education, and community-based programming, she brings a deep understanding of how systems can better support individuals and families.

 

In her professional work, Stephanie has led complex health and education initiatives, managed grant-funded programs, and built partnerships across institutions and communities. She currently serves as a faculty member at Rutgers University and as Executive Director of a nationally recognized non-profit focused on youth well-being and education.

​

Stephanie is also a dedicated community advocate and grassroots organizer, known locally for supporting small businesses and bringing neighbors together. She is running for Township Committee to build on her community involvement and serve in a way that creates lasting, meaningful impact for Morris Township residents. Stephanie is committed to a forward-looking vision for Morris Township—one that strengthens public services, improves communication and transparency, and ensures every resident feels safe, supported, and connected to their community.

Jeremy 
Godwin

Jeremy Godwin is a dad, neighbor, and strategic communications leader who has called Morris Township home for nearly a decade. As a parent with two young children, Jeremy is deeply invested in the long-term health and vibrancy of our community, bringing a perspective rooted in the daily experiences of local families. Jeremy is known for his ability to listen, connect, and build bridges.

With 20 years of communications experience in the telecommunications, health care, and non-profit sectors, Jeremy has built a career around solving complex problems for organizations large and small. A former TV news reporter and anchor, he’s an expert in distilling complicated information into clear, actionable communication — a skill set he is eager to apply to local government to ensure every resident is informed and engaged.

Jeremy’s commitment to service is a lifelong pursuit. An Eagle Scout, he continues to give back to the next generation of leaders by serving on the Executive Board of the Patriots’ Path Council of Scouting America. 

He is running for the Morris Township Committee to champion a responsive and resilient local government that serves its citizens. Jeremy is dedicated to a vision for our town that prioritizes modern communication, community preparedness, and a supportive environment where every neighbor can thrive.
